EMPLOYABILITY WEBINARS

The Botswana Student Union hosts Employability Webinars for the student community which aim to bridge the existing information gap between students and stakeholders in Botswana. Stakeholders include, but not limited to, employers, employees and business leaders. This is also a networking opportunity where strong relations and innovative ideas may be developed.

The following profiles are guest speakers who gave talks on previous webinars. They are happy to connect with students and assist where possible.

BIO

Agang holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from The University of Botswana. In her early career Agang worked as a Research Assistant in Universitat de Bundeswehr; Munich, Germany. Currently her work experience includes technical duties with the Department of Information Technology at the University of Botswana.

Agang is passionate about education and is co-founder of The Clicking Generation-ICT Academy for Kids and Teens; a program that offers computing and technology curriculum to kids and teens. She is currently National Expert for UN-World Summit Award Organization, Ambassador-ITU Young Innovator Competition and Ambassador-Africa Code Week. In these roles she partakes in encouraging Botswana youngsters in the Information Technology field on issues of innovation and e-content creation. A previous Champion for the local Google Developer Group she is now an Advisor to the same. Agang is Board Member of Botswana Academy of Sciences. As an ICT Youth Advocate she has worked with UN Agencies to disseminate information on the Post 2015 Development Agenda especially to the youth population. She works closely with relevant stakeholders to implement Girls in ICT programs throughout Botswana.

Agang is a Brightest Young Minds Alumni 2015, a selection of top 100 young Africans contributing to their communities, sponsored by Barclays Africa. Recently in 2016, Agang forms part of the prestigious Tony Elumelu Foundation Mentorship program, being mentored by a successful and seasoned thought leader, Tony Elumelu. She is also a Mandela Washington Fellow 2016, an initiative by U.S. State Department.

He is currently the Group Reporting Accountant with Kamoso Africa Group,a company with subsidiaries in the pharmaceutical, manufacturing,

distribution, and retail industries in Southern Africa. A youngster who has varied himself as an advocate for business development and entrepreneurship.  He has recently spearheaded “The Capital” on Duma-Fm and Gabz-FM for over two years. His ideal mandate is to teach and inform the public at large of the opportunities that lie on Botswana’s investment market and grid.

Tom IIube CBE

Tom Ilube CBE is a technology entrepreneur and educational philanthropist. He is founder/CEO of London based Crossword Cybersecurity plc, a Non Executive Director of the BBC and a Non Executive Director of FTSE100 company WPP, the world largest advertising group. Previously he was Managing Director of Consumer Markets at Callcredit Information Group, a UK credit reference agency. Prior to Callcredit, he founded Garlik, a venture capital-backed identity protection company. Earlier, Tom served as Chief Information Officer of Egg plc, the pioneering British internet bank. His career has included Goldman Sachs, PwC and the London Stock Exchange.
Tom is an Advisory Fellow of St Anne's College, University of Oxford, an Honorary Fellow of Jesus College, Oxford and is Chair of the education charity, African Gifted Foundation and launched the African Science Academy, the first girls’ science and technology school on the continent. In 2017 Tom was named as Britain’s most influential Black person. Tom was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 2018 Birthday Honours for services to Technology and Philanthropy and has received honorary Doctorates from City, University of London and University of Wolverhampton.

Neo Tina Jalal

Mrs Neo Tina Jalal, is a daughter, a wife, a mother, a sister and a friend. I am a Motswana citizen. My education background is and not limited to Finance, Accounting, Business Administration & Development and Entrepreneurship. 


I worked for Coopers & Lybrand then continued under PriceWaterHouseCoopers and Murray and Roberts. I also worked under various family businesses.


After my last job I started my own business, first as a Partner and then independently. In business I am in Business Advisory, Entrepreneurship and Training & Mentorship. I then expanded into commodity trading and Trade Finance. I have been a business over two decades .

Karabo Letsholo

Karabo has always had an entrepreneurial spirit, even as a child. At the tender age of 13 he started his first job delivering newspapers around his neighbourhood. From such humble beginnings he is now one of the top upcoming digital entrepreneurs and sought after speakers in Botswana. 
After completing his Bachelor of Finance degree at the University of Botswana, he went on to join Voodoo Advertising Agency as an accounts executive. It was during his time there that he discovered his true passion; Digital Marketing. At Voodoo he worked with a team of creatives developing marketing and communications strategies for various clients. Bit by the marketing bug, he pursued a Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing from the Digital Marketing Institute as well as a Content Marketing Certificate from the Content Marketing Institute. He is now the Founder and Managing Director of VYB Digital; a digital marketing agency that prides itself for its youthful workforce and providing innovative digital solutions to its clients. 
As an entrepreneur, Mr Letsholo has also been featured in both Wealth and Start Up Africa Magazine where his business acumen and skills were highlighted and praised. In 2018 he started his Mandarin journey, taking up Chinese Language studies at the University of Botswana in an effort to improve his business prospects. 
A sought after public speaker, Mr Letsholo has had numerous speaking engagements including with Toast Masters, BIUST and other small community gatherings. His main speaking topic is on entrepreneurship, the challenges that come with it and inspiring other young people to consider the career. He has also been on all the main radio stations talking about his entrepreneurial journey.
